Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?

We currently offer three options: An interview with an individual, an interview with a couple, and our premium concierge service — the creation of a legacy documentary for either an individual or a couple.

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form and we’ll respond within 48 hours to set up a time to meet and talk you through next steps. We’re happy to answer any questions you might have along the way.

What makes you different?

We care about families and the stories that shape them. As a boutique media company, we try to make the process easy to understand and genuinely collaborative. We are your partner and being trusted to capture someone’s life journey is a tremendous honor. We are forever grateful for each family who has let us be part of that work.

What is the timeline for producing an interview or a documentary?

Once we’ve met, an interview can be set up, completed and delivered within a 48-hour period.

A legacy documentary is more complex to produce. It requires detailed planning, shooting and editing, and may take months to be finished.

Why are the costs for an interview versus a documentary so different?

An interview is generally more affordable because it’s output is a raw video file. A full legacy documentary requires much more planning, filming, research and production work, which makes it a larger investment.

Why did you close in September of 2024?

In short, we trusted people we shouldn’t have, and it hurt financially and emotionally. It was a painful lesson. We are now doing our best to move forward with more care, setting clearer boundaries, and moving forward with a better sense of who we let into our work.

Do you still offer any physical products like the custom USB drives or gift boxes?

We do not. In order to reduce costs for families, we removed that option and now deliver content 100% digitally. This allows us to quickly replace a video or documentary should a client lose access to it.

My family made a Vimory® documentary prior to 2025. Can I still get a copy of it?

Yes. We have multiple archives of all the Vimory® projects and are able to share a digital copy with you.

Who owns and operates Inherited Stories® now?

Inherited Stories® is now a subsidiary of the Nissen Holding Company™.
