Legacy Documentary
This is our premium service. We will work with your family to create a legacy documentary of an individual or couple. What’s included:
Consultation meeting to create an interview plan, including story prompts and production logistics
Professionally recorded, in-person interview(s) with an individual or couple
Conversion of family physical media into digital form
Recording original video of up to 5 personally important locations
Recording session(s) of the individual or couple doing their hobbies
Editing together a legacy documentary
Two revision sessions
Delivery of a digital copy of the legacy documentary
About Us
Inherited Stories® was founded in September 2019 by Dietrich Nissen, an Emmy Award®-recipient storyteller.
Dietrich was inspired to offer families a way to preserve their loved one’s stories after witnessing his grandma’s battle with dementia. He also recognized the harmful effects of loneliness and isolation many older adults suffer from. As a long-time advocate for intergenerational relationships, Dietrich wanted to give elders the chance to share and pass on their lived experiences in a meaningful way.
The company is based in Edina, Minnesota and is positioned to serve families within the Upper Midwest of the United States.
