Legacy Documentary (Vimory®)
This is our premium service where we work closely with your family to create an unforgettable and completely unique legacy documentary of a person or people you love.
Here’s what’s included:
Consultation meeting to create an interview plan, including story prompts and production logistics
Professionally recorded, in-person interview(s) with an individual or couple at their home or another meaningful location
Conversion of your family’s physical media into digital form (some restriction may apply)
Archival research at historical societies and other publicly available resources. (Additional research costs may apply depending on your situation)
Recording original video of up to 5 personally important locations
Recording original video of an individual or couple doing their favorite hobby or hobbies
Editing together a legacy documentary
Two revision opportunities

About Us
Inherited Stories® was founded in September 2019 by Emmy Award®-recipient storyteller, Dietrich Nissen. Dietrich was inspired to offer families a way to preserve their loved one’s stories after witnessing his grandma’s battle with dementia and the loss of her ability to share their family’s history.
Little did he know that the work of Inherited Stories® would go beyond the elderly. The company has supported families through terminal illness and life-altering challenges, as well as joyful milestones like anniversaries and later-in-life marriages.
No matter the situation, the company’s mission is to provide an opportunity for people to connect, share, and celebrate their loved one’s lived experiences through storytelling.
Inherited Stories® is based in Edina, Minnesota and actively serves families in the Upper Midwest of the United States of America.
